6500 Visitors Later: A Recap Of CraftHER Market Week
From October 3 to 11, we hosted our eighth installment of craftHER Market. Transformed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the market officially went digital and curbside for all nine days.
In that time, more than 6500+ people (!!!) visited us online to show up for women and nonbinary small business owners. Keep reading for a little summary of everything that went down.

behind our first-ever crafther market week
This market was our first time attempt at reshaping craftHER Market in response to the pandemic, and we decided to fully lean into a digital design. On October 3, when the market launched, our website became a dynamic virtual marketplace—and we spent the week in and out of Zoom rooms with the 90+ small business owners on our lineup.
SOME TAKEAWAYS:
Cultivating creative community—even in times of crisis—is paramount. We need each other.. You can still meet and explore all of the creatives and makers that were on our lineup here.
It’s time (and has been time) for underrepresented small business owners to stand at the front. Throughout the week’s virtual talks, we heard from artists, makers, designers and small business owners across Texas on what it looks like to collaborate and provide/receive support. As Joi Chevalier of The Cook’s Nook said, “You cannot be a successful entrepreneur in a vacuum.”
Showing up for the people, places and things we care about is more than a lifestyle. It’s a mindset. You can click here to download this market’s How To Show Up For Diverse Small Businesses guide and learn more.
HOW TO STAY INVOLVED:
If you didn’t get a chance to shop the market, our wellness boxes, curated especially for craftHER Market Week 2020, are still available. You can grab one here.
Our applications for next year’s market are live. We’ll be back February 20 and 21 in 2021. Click here to apply.
Take care of yourself and your community. Stay tuned for future bbatx events, like craftHER Market, here. And if you bought something during craftHER Market, took your 2021 Census or registered to vote, you can head here to enter a giveaway for one of our craftHER Market boxes. Enjoy.
As always, there’s no way we could do what we do without our team and friends. Thank you to our vendor lineup, our staff, our committee, our volunteers and our partners at Fair Market, Tito’s Vodka, Giant Noise, and the City of Austin’s Cultural Arts Division. THANK YOU.
