Fall ‘19 Panels
Thanks to our craftHER sponsors Tito’s Handmade Vodka and the City of Austin’s Cultural Arts Division, these panels are free and open to the public on October 12 and 13, with stage design coordinated by our lovely friends at Party at the Moontower Rentals.
ASL interpretation will be provided for the panels stage from 12 PM to 3 PM each day.
DAY ONE LINEUP — OCT. 12
• 11:30 AM: Cuttlefish-Casting
Gather at the panels stage to watch a demonstration from multidisciplinary artist and craftHER maker Coelina Edwards.
• 12:00 PM: Make Your Money Work For You
In this panel, #BBATX committee member Cara Cate, founder of Factora Allegra Brantly and tax consultant Shani Hebert will discuss the financial mindsets and practices it takes to scale a side hustle and launch a business.
• 1:00 PM: Contemporary Craft and Cultural Appropriation
What are the lines (and relationships) between appreciation, appropriation and plagiarism? In this discussion, #BBATX committee member and multidisciplinary artist Coelina Edwards, arts organizer Mercy Emelike, founder of La Wixarika Denise Rosales and cultural cartographer Jennifer Steverson will weigh in on the ways that contemporary craft borrows and steals from Indigenous practices and customs.
• 2:00 PM: Self-Doubt And Starting A Business
We often start businesses to solve the problems we see in the world—to be the message we wish to see in our communities. Even still, pursuing entrepreneurship can be lonely and mentally challenging. How do we become our own best cheerleaders? #BBATX board member Alexandra Perez-Puelles will answer this question with health coach Abbi Miller, ceramicist Sequoyah Johnson and photographer-entrepreneur Riley Blanks.
• 3:00 PM: DJ Set by #BBATX Resident Artist DJ Dama Nilz
DAY TWO LINEUP — OCT. 13
• 11:30 AM: Community Loom with Zanny Adornments
Gather at the panels stage to watch a loom demonstration from Zanny Adornments. Following the demonstration, all will have the opportunity to contribute to the loom throughout the market.
• 12:00 PM: An Artist Talk Featuring Edith Valle
In conversation with artist and #BBATX board member Xochi Solis, craftHER Market’s artist-in-residence Edith Valle will discuss her inspirations and creative career.
• 1:00 PM: Making A Living On Multiple Incomes
Small business owners and creative entrepreneurs typically pursue multiple projects and streams of income to make a living. In this discussion, you’ll hear from different thought leaders who are making it work, including creative entrepreneur Mélissa Peng, Cristina Martinez of Very That, Jasmine Robinson of Collegiate Mom Coalition and Monica Ceniceros of ATX Gals.
• 2:00 PM: Making The Most Of Your Time Online
How many hours of your day do you lose scrolling Instagram? In this panel, #BBATX committee member Cynthia Munoz, co-founder of The Juggle Sarah Overmyer, founder of Oddball Vintage Lauren Mahoney and model and musician Sydni Adams explore establishing healthy relationships to technology, productivity hacks and simplifying our time on social media.
• 3:00 PM: DJ Set by #BBATX Resident Artist DJCASS&RA
Fall ‘19 Community Tables
Every year, we invite community groups to table at the market free-of-charge. Stop by their table on the craftHER lawn to learn more about what they do and participate in an activity.
Fall ‘19 Community Raffle
At every market, we host a little raffle to fundraise for our community and partners, featuring goods and wares from our featured lineup of makers.
This year, we'll be fundraising for our very own programs at #bossbabesATX! To get your name in the raffle, stop by our info table near the entrance and purchase two tickets for $5 (you’re welcome to grab as many as you’d like)! You can learn more about our other programs and #BBATX’s mission here: bossbabes.org/programming.

Beyond the market on Oct. 12 and 13, craftHER Market hosts pop-ups and other workshops throughout the year. Here’s a full look at craftHER’s Fall ‘19 workshops and pop-ups calendar.
