craftHER Market Has Been Postponed to October 2020

Over the last few months due to our country’s evolving stance and lack of control of COVID-19, our team has been working diligently to pivot craftHER Market’s 2020 vision. Since April, our community has rallied to host two virtual markets and launch the CRAFTHER BOX, supporting more than 100 women and nonbinary small business owners.

As we look toward the future (and get creative as hell), we have decided to postpone the market a final time.

We are more than grateful to have the resources and community support to pivot; so, craftHER Market will now only be held in-person once in 2020 on October 3 and 4. Our vendors, many of which are solopreneurs and small businesses, have been offered the option to request a refund or participate in the market this Fall. Our venue, Fair Market, has been kind enough to reschedule without increasing our losses. With this change, we’ll develop thorough safety protocols, incorporate a virtual version of the market on October 10 and 11, as well as gear up for another launch of the CRAFTHER BOX.

We’ll keep showing up for our community, which continues to show up for us right back. If you’re interested in what resources we have to offer right now, check these out:

  • READ OUR RESOURCE GUIDES: In the wake of the pandemic and the ongoing occurrences of racial injustice in our country, our team and board have continuously worked hard to compile resources from organizations, activists, and friends in creating our COVID-19 Resource Guide and our Personal and Professional Guide to Anti-Racism Work. To read these guides in full, you can head over to bossbabes.org/blog.

  • ATTEND OUR UPCOMING DIGITAL EVENTS: In the upcoming weeks, team bbatx will be announcing our next round of Summer programming. To stay in the know about these events (which are available to attend for free or by donation), keep an eye on our socials (@bossbabesatx on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) and take a peek at our current event calendar.

  • SUPPORT OUR RECOVERY EFFORTS: Over the next few months, our umbrella organization (bbatx) will continue to be engaged in recovery efforts. This looks like asking for donations, but it also looks like promoting the hell out of our events and program participants. <3 This also means that launching our membership program is going to be paramount and pivotal. Subscribe to our bimonthly newsletter to stay in the loop or keep up with us on social media (@bossbabesatx on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter). That’s the best way to support right now.

  • SEND YOUR LOVE TO OUR VENDORS: Our vendors are facing many cancellations. You can browse our current 2020 lineup and shop their work online at crafthermarket.com. If you’re looking to support the Black makers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners featured on our lineup, we have created a blog post to amplify their voices and spread the word about how you can best support them right now.

  • WHEN IT’S SAFE TO HUG, COME SAY HI. OK?

You can keep up with our organization-wide changes surrounding coronavirus here. If you have any questions around coronavirus, feel free to email our production team directly at thebabes@bossbabes.org. We want you to be safe and healthy always! Thank you to our vendors, community partners, and sponsors for the support. <3 We appreciate y’all.

Stay at home,
team bbatx + craftHER Market
